Gary’s blog

Hello Everyone.

I hope you all had a great time at our Christmas Fayre on Saturday 13th November. We had our biggest ever range of cakes, confectionery, biscuits, gifts, cards, wines, cheeses, wreaths and deli items on sale. The tasting tables proved very popular as did the mulled wine! There are still lots of fabulous goodies available to buy in the Shop so get them while you can!

We have lots of new, exciting products in the Shop. In addition to our range of Dunsfold Cellar wines we are now stocking two new wines from the Bolney Estate near Haywards Heath:
– Lychgate Bacchus – an English white, and
– Foxhole Vineyard Brut – an English sparkling.
All these wines are 10% off the marked price until the end of December.

Charlie’s Smokehouse have introduced some extremely tasty new products just in time for Christmas:
– smoked chicken
– Creole chicken and duck breasts and
– gin and clementine infused smoked salmon.
These really are delicious – why not place an order for them in the Shop?

We said a sad goodbye to Sugarparty earlier in the year – I know that many of you miss their brownies, cakes and traybakes. Well, we have a new supplier! Crosbie Cakes from Witley are now delivering lots of your favourites – give them a try. We loved tasting them and I know you’ll be impressed when you do!

If you’re stuck for a gift idea why not buy one of our hamper bags and fill it with your own choice of items – the perfect Christmas present!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

With best wishes from Gary and all the staff, volunteers, and Shop Committee members

The Shop team of staff and volunteers and the Management Committee are delighted to announce that Jeremy Hunt MP, in conjunction with Tindle Newspapers, has awarded the Shop a South West Surrey Heroes Award.

Whilst this has not been “officially” announced on Jeremy’s website, we are now able to share this very happy news with you all and we couldn’t be more pleased and proud. We are so very grateful to everyone involved in the Shop’s continued efforts to support our community during this pandemic.

This is a new Community Heroes scheme, which acknowledges and shines a spotlight on those people going above and beyond to help others during these challenging times. The scheme celebrates those individuals who go that “extra mile” whether that be supporting their neighbours or individuals through the Covid-19 pandemic, fundraising or helping the community. Eight other organisations join us in winning the award this year.

So in addition to celebrating our 10th birthday at the beginning of February AND having completed our 3000th order for collection, we are happy to add this award to our list of achievements.

We are as proud as punch and as always, THANK YOU, for your on going support and encouragement throughout.

We are very proud of the charity support we provide…

    • We’ve supported Macmillan thanks to a customer who has been busy making bright and cheerful face masks. You can buy them at the shop front door if you’ve forgotten yours. And yes, we really like you to wear one and please be patient as we can only have two people in the shop at a time.

  • And last, but by no means least, we support local charities too. Arthouse Unlimited is another pool of talented people in our community and supplies us with cheeky cards, handmade soaps and handmade chocolates.
