September’s Blog.

Hello everyone,

I hope you enjoyed our 4th July celebration and Game, Set, and Match! events in July. Our American burgers from R G Young in Chiddingfold went down a treat and, of course, we are selling the patties in the Shop!

Our driveway is continuing to take shape. We have the pergola, fruit and vegetable rack, and chiller already in place and look forward to installing some new tables and chairs and planters in the coming weeks.

We have some fantastic new products in the Shop. Little Haymans Honey – with the bees foraging from Haymans Farm Cider Orchard, wild crab apples, hawthorn, and brassica blossom from a nearby farm, this is delicious classic runny summer honey. If you’re stuck for dessert ideas why not give one of our frozen cheesecakes and pies from the Fab Food Bakery a try?

We have been experimenting with new, exciting fillings for our range of delicious sandwiches, wraps, rolls, and baguettes. We’re selling them almost as fast as we’re making them! If you haven’t had one already then give them a try – you’ll be hooked!

We are delighted to welcome two new volunteers to the Shop! Brenda Jenner has joined us and will be behind the till on Friday afternoons. Sandra Davis has been with us for a few weeks and is part of our amazing sandwich making team. We also welcome Bridget Deans back as another sandwich maker. If you have a couple of hours to spare each week and would like to join our 20+ strong team of volunteers please let me know.

We are extremely sorry to say goodbye to Vicky who leaves us later this month to start a new role elsewhere. We wish her the best of luck in her new job! We are looking to hire her replacement so if you’re interested, or know someone who would be, then please let me know – more details are in the advert.

With best wished from Gary, all the staff, volunteers, and Shop Committee members.
