The Shop Management Committee 2021 & beyond

We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive volunteers to join our Management Committee in 2021. If you enjoy working as part of a team and would like to be involved in supporting YOUR community shop to continue to thrive, please get in touch. Now, more than ever before, the shop has proved its worth to each and every one of us.

The posts that will become available include the roles of Chairman, Marketing, Social Media and Volunteer Coordination. And we also enjoy holding occasional events. We run an organised ship and always welcome fresh ideas.

If you are interested or you know someone who would be, just email Email: committee@dunsfoldvillageshop.co.uk and we will get in touch for a chat.

Or call the Shop on 01483 200246, leave a message and one of the committee will call you back.

Go on – you know you would love it!

Spring Shop News

20 April 2020

With all the glorious blossoms out, spring has well and truly sprung! Of course it means we should crack on with some spring cleaning (get your supplies here!) but also look forward to new seasonal fruit and veg.

Love Local is something which differentiates Dunsfold Village Shop and makes us special – now, more than ever, we ask you to support us and our local suppliers.

No queues, no contact and collect when you’re called. Shopping with us has never been easier: simply order online and use our collection and delivery service. Complete the order form, selecting items from our product lists, updated daily at 6pm.

Beers, wines and spirits

We’re well stocked with great products from local suppliers such as Crafty Brewing Co, Firebird Brewing and Hoggs Back Brewery and we have a spring recommendation from Rupert at Taurus Wines who says now is the time to crack open a Rioja, perfect for spring lamb or Gris Marin Rosé for a sunset tipple on the terrace. It’s the closest to being in Spain and France at the moment.

Personalised customer service

We stock fresh fruit and veg, artisan bread and meat from Rawlings but for anything specific, please give us advance warning.

  • For fresh fruit and veg we need 24 hours’ notice – NB we always try to buy British.
  • For the freshest and most delicious bakery items, we source artisan bread from SODT (delivers Tues & Thurs – order by 12pm the day before) and Hungry Guest (order by 12pm on Friday for Monday delivery).
  • Finally, for all meat orders from Rawlings we need 48 hour’s notice.

Let’s talk dirty!

We have a good range of well-priced cleaning products, including the new BIO-D range, so don’t forget to add them to your order form.

Clean away the cobwebs
Make light of dirt and grime
Wave high those feather dusters
It’s now spring cleaning time!

Happy Birthday Ma’am!

It’s the Queen’s birthday on 21 April – so it’s official – birthdays aren’t cancelled!

We have a fabulous collection for almost every occasion, including a new children’s range of gorgeous, funny cards. We can hand-pick a card for you and have 1st and 2nd class stamps, wrapping paper plus a full range of envelopes.

Let us know the sort of thing you’re looking for on the order form and we will do our Dunsfold Village Shop best!

Exciting new products

Hurray!

  • Asparagus season is here and supplies from Hallgate Farm have arrived at the Shop.
  • Secretts salad leaves are back.
  • And we still have rhubarb.

Please send us your orders!

April blog

Please note that this was written BEFORE the lockdown.

Hello Everyone.

Easter is just around the corner and we have a lovely range of delicious chocolate eggs, bunnies, chicks and iced biscuits in the shop – perfect Easter gifts. We can also take orders for meat from Rawlings and beautiful flowers by Juliette. Just pop into the shop and let us know what you’d like.

Coronavirus is first and foremost in most people’s minds at the moment so I thought it was worth re-capping some of the messages on this subject that we’ve sent out from the shop recently.

We wish to reassure you that we are working hard to ensure we are fully compliant with the advice and guidance being issued by Public Health England and the World Health Organisation. The wellbeing of our customers, staff and volunteers is of the utmost importance. The team is fully aware of the current hygiene requirements and have increased the regularity of cleaning procedures throughout the shop and in all food preparations.

We are working closely with all our suppliers to keep our shelves well stocked. They are, however, subject to the same supply chains as we are so we apologise in advance if we don’t always have what you’re looking for and will do our best to get it in as soon as possible.

We have set up a doorstep drop delivery service to anyone in the Dunsfold and Hascombe area who is self-isolating and unable to obtain a delivery of essential items from any other source. If you need more information on this service, or if you’re interested in helping out with the deliveries themselves then please contact me for more information.

Here’s hoping you stay healthy.

With best wishes,
Gary

Coronavirus Update

In response to the Government’s strict advice on social distancing, the Dunsfold Village Shop closed for walk in customers on 24 March 2020. We re-opened the next day as a delivery and collection service.

The Post Office is closed for the foreseeable future.

Our commitment is to serve the communities of Dunsfold and Hascombe and to prioritise the health of our staff, volunteers and customers.
