February’s Blog.

Hello everyone,

A big thank-you for coming along to our Christmas Fayre in December and helping to make it the most successful ever! We really enjoyed seeing you all there.

Now that the festivities are over and our suppliers are returning to their usual delivery schedules, I’m pleased that the Shop is, once again, fully stocked and we are ready to serve you. We’re already staring to think about Valentine’s, Mother’s Day and Easter and it won’t be long before we need to place our order for next Christmas!

One of my tasks for this year is to focus on making sure our product range and stock levels meet demand. I will be spending time weeding out those items that don’t sell very well and replacing them with good value customer favourites.

We have some new (and returning) volunteers in the Shop. We welcome Lesley and Sandra who will be in the kitchen making our delicious sandwiches and Ed, Perdita and Cory who are all volunteering as part of their Duke Of Edinburgh Award programmes. Of course, if you or anyone you know, is interested in helping out for a couple of hours each week, please let me know. There are a variety of things to do including serving customers behind the till, making sandwiches, odd jobs/maintenance/decorating.

We had a very busy December in the Post Office and met lots of new customers. I thought it would be worth reminding you of the range of services we’re able to offer so I will make this a regular feature for the next few months and start off with banking services. Did you know that you can deposit and withdraw cash (up to whatever limit your bank has set) from the Post Office? You can also pay in cheques to your account (for most high street banks). Saves you a trip to your “nearest” branch!

With best wished from Gary, all the staff, volunteers, and Shop Committee members
