April Blog.

Hello everyone,

We still have a great range of Easter gifts, eggs, chocolates, and of course, amazing flowers from Chrissy and Char at Bud & Flower in Kirdford for your last minute Easter shopping. Remember you can order joints of meat from RG Young in Chiddingfold through us and have them delivered to the Shop for collection.

Have you tried one of new delicious pies, quiches and Gala pie slices from Country Delights? We have lots of different flavours, and they can be eaten hot or cold.

We are delighted to be stocking amazing candles from Claire at Sage & Fables. Our current fragrance is Whispers of Rose.

Firebird beers are back! Formed in 2013, and based in an old, converted brickworks in Rudgwick, Firebird produces a large range of award winning beers. They have a thriving shop and bar and hold regular events and tours – well worth a visit! We are currently stocking Heritage Ale, Bohemia Lager, Festive 51 Ale, and Pacific Gem Pale Ale.

I’m sure most people will be aware of the price increase of stamps planned by Royal Mail for 7th April. 1st Class stamps will increase to £1.80 and 2nd Class stamps will be £0.91. Any stamps purchased before this date will be valid for use after the date and we have plenty in stock if you wish to buy before the prices go up.

Finally, I wanted to pay tribute to James Field who passed away recently. James was a great friend to the Shop; a previous Chairman of the Committee, a customer, and one of the first people who spoke to me when I nervously started my first solo shift behind the till. We will all miss him.

With best wished from Gary, all the staff, volunteers, and Shop Committee members.
