Christmas Fair on Sunday 20 November

Our well-supported Christmas Fair got the season off to a great start! And there’s still plenty of Christmas fayre in the Shop.


Jess loves…All things ice cream!


Summer is here and we are using it as an excuse to make delicious frozen desserts. We stock a range of eat now ice creams, as well as tubs of Caroline’s Dairy ice cream and sorbet, wafer cones and luxurious sauces.

Two course family dinner sorted!

2 course meal June 16Gnocchi with onions & bacon followed by meringues & fruit. Easy, delicious, and affordable. (For 4-5 people)

Boil the gnocchi in water for 5 minutes. At the same time, fry the onions and bacon. When it’s all cooked, mix it together and add grated cheese! For extra decadence add some mozzarella and pop it under the grill!

And for dessert, how about Cotswold handmade meringues (£2.65 for 5) with some fresh fruit?

Did you know that we deliver newspapers daily? If you live around Dunsfold Green or the Common, you might have seen the happy smiling face of Ben, one of our paper boys.

Ben says: ‘I just love going on my paper round. I like to remind my mum Kath which house we go to and which door we need to go to next. It helps keep my mum on the right track!’

Shop AGM: 9 June

Shop Secretary Mike Fawcett writes

To all Dunsfold Residents

The Dunsfold Community Shop Association Ltd AGM will be held in the Winn Hall at 19.00 on Thursday 9 June. Aside from the formal business (upon which only Shareholders can vote), the Board will be giving a review of the last year and outlining plans for the future before answering questions and suggestions.

We hope there will be a large turnout of Village residents (not just Shareholders), with a glass of prosecco provided to end the evening.

It is your Shop and we hope to see you there.

Col. Mike loves……the Shop’s well priced homemade sandwiches

Col. Mike is a regular visitor to the shop as well as being a happy smiling volunteer. He frequently buys the Shop’s homemade sandwiches.

Mike says:

‘I buy them for my wife’s lunch as well as buying a few for myself. I like that there is a range of fillings. They are always really nicely packed. You can’t get a better ham salad sandwich anywhere else.’

The shop sells a range of sandwiches from £2.25 up to £2.80.

Sammie and Vicky love……spring cleaning!

sammie-vicky love spring cleaningWe decided to find out who loves spring cleaning in Dunsfold. We didn’t have to look far.

At the Shop, Sammie will often be found with Mr Sheen keeping the shelves clean. Sammie says:
‘I always wear rubber gloves because I have to keep my nails nice. And I love the smell of bleach at home. It just makes it smell clean. I also really love the smell of comfort fabric softener, especially smelling it on my son when I send him off to school.’

Vicky also likes to don the rubber gloves and give the Shop a good clean. Vicky says: ‘At home, I always feel the house is clean when the washing machine is going. I seem to buy more and more of my everyday cleaning products from the Shop. I was surprised by how reasonably priced many of the items were’

Dave loves……Easter Eggs

The Shop can take your order for lamb or beef from Rawlings Butchers. Order by Thursday 24th March! Just download our order form or pop into the Shop and complete one there. We have gravy, mint, horseradish & bread sauces, veggies and frozen roast potatoes, parsnips and Yorkshire puddings for those who would like to make cooking as relaxing as possible. Pretty much everything you could possibly need for a delicious roast meal from the Shop.

For pudding why not try hot cross bun bread and butter pudding, served with custard or ice cream. Here’s the recipe.

Children in Dunsfold love Mother’s Day….

‘Daddy said we can make Mummy a cake. He said we can decorate it with sprinkles.’

‘I think lots of flowers for her and a Mother’s Day card.’

Barbara loves………for Valentine’s Day

barbara loves edThere is nothing better than the gift of flowers, not just on Valentine’s Day but any day of the year, whether it’s a bouquet of massive blooms to celebrate an anniversary, Mothering Sunday or St Valentine’s Day or a small bunch of tulips or daffodils just to show you care!

‘I like roses for a special occasion. I had pink roses for my wedding and I love tulips in the spring time. Juliette does an amazing job; she makes simply stunning bouquets.’ Barbara

Flowers by Juliette will take orders via the Shop for bouquets for special occasions, in a price bracket to suit you. Or if you have run out of time, come and pick up a bunch from the shop.

Weekly Prize Draw

The Shop will be having a weekly Prize Draw throughout February. Spend £5 and you will be entered into a raffle and have the chance to win a £5 voucher to be spent in the Shop.

I have ordered some special cupcakes for my nieces and now when I ask what they would like for prezzie’s they request yummy things from Karen at Sugar Party. They always love them.

Christmas Fair on 22 November 2015

The Christmas Fair starts at 11am where you will be greeted by the fragrance of hot mulled wine and tempted by the taste of Christmas cake, wines to enjoy over the Christmas holiday and many more delicacies! We also have so many lovely things for you to give as presents, handmade cards and festive wrapping paper. Please come and support the Dunsfold Village Shop and start your preparations for Christmas. You can order your Rawlings turkey, gammon, sausages, Christmas wreaths and lots more.

Halloween colouring competition

A big thank you to all the children who entered our colouring competition. We had over 30 entries for the over three age categories. Well done to Sabella, Sienna and Poppy, who each won a goody bag of Halloween treats including gingerbread, glow sticks, face paints and lots of sweets!

The Shop and Post Office featured on BBC4
